Urban Outfitters is definitely one of my fave high street retailers, but this Christmas I actually found a fault with the on-trend store. Whilst shopping for Christmas presents for my boyfriend I found it really hard to find clothing that was present worthy. My bf is tee fanatic and usually rants to me about the difficulties of finding 'the PERFECT tee', in reply to this I usually ignore or don't take it into consideration. As Christmas rolled round so did my awareness of finding a decent men's tee that doesn't have Rihanna's face or a digital print of un-creative cartoon characters plastered all over it.
UO, usually my go-to place for on trend fashion, played host to endless shelves of the terrible tees. No insult to UO (I'll still always love it) but it was really disappointing to see! Though there was no trace of Rihanna, there wasn't anything remotely appealing among the horizontal stripes and Aztec pocketed plains. I don't blame UO of course, I blame today's fashion industry. Maybe if everyone stopped obsessing over getting girls in hotpants and heels bigger than a persons head, the menswear industry would be blossoming beautifully.

Levi's S/S Vintage Lookbook
Levi's vintage clothing line has released its Spring/Summer Lookbook for the fast approaching 2013. Set in the California's scorching Death Valley, the western vintage denim Levi cladded models represent true American 1950's fashion in this cinematic retro Lookbook. Not usually a fan of American homage, I have found myself vacuumed into the Americana fascination this past year, with american beauty's emerging such as the exquisite Lana Del Rey it's really difficult not to be sucked in!

DJ
London jewellery designer Dominic Jones hit us hard with his edgy jewellery being featured on the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce and Florence. Now he is delivering yet another punch with his new collection; DJ. DJ brings all the aspects of his previous Tooth and Nail collection with added eccentricity (and enamel) and is premièring it on the likes of Alice Dellal, Chelsea Leyland, Phoebe Collings-James and Kesh in the 90's-esque attitude-problem pop/rock video with added No Doubt vocals (Vimeo,http://vimeo.com/52917774)
DJ is now available at Harvey Nichols and My-Wardrobe.com

Eary for Katie
First came across Katie Eary last winter in an advertisement for Dazed & Confused. Loved the images she used in her advertisements but after researching her, realised her speciality was combining animal prints with street-wear. As a not so animal print lover I wasn't swayed by Katie, however I recently came across her AW13 film and was in absolute awe. The video is extremely intriguing and captures her raw-edge animal essence. Check out her website! http://www.katieeary.co.uk/

Bad shirts and thumb biting.
Everywhere I look recently, terrible printed shirts are making a very unnecessary appearance. I don't know what it is about the shit shirt epidemic, but people have clearly lost their way in the vintage wormhole - particularly young males sporting a snapback and pulled up gym socks....I'm all in for people being 'fashion forward' but the whole 'vintage 80's' dressing seems to have resulted in people quite literally playing dress up. Worked on a bar at a 3-day festival gig type over summer and was introduced to 'ShiteShirts' by a middle-aged bald typical yorky requesting a bottle of champers who was sporting one of the favourable shirts that included pink polka dots and yellow pin stripes. Through all his slurring and falling he so very kindly wrote down the address of the website on a damp Fosters beer mat. www.shiteshirts.com is quite literally a website that sells.....shite shirts, I guess it's good if you're into all that fancy shirt wearing, but if you're more boring and monochrome (like myself) I suggest to stay away.
