LFW - Day 5 - Nasir Mazhar A/W2013

LFW - DAY 5 - NASIR MAZHAR A/W 2013
Club throttling and inspiring, Nasir Mazhar used English rapper and actress Shystie and her dancers as provided models and entertainment at the underground of the Tate Tank to represent a distinctive retro collection. Zebra striped jackets, flashy skirts and passe cropped jumpers are the key pieces why I find this collection so interesting! Though clearly retro, I feel like this collection brings to LFW a refreshing change!

LFW - Day 4 - Tom Ford A/W2013

LFW - DAY 4 - TOM FORD A/W 2013
Looking at the Tom Ford A/W collection, its clear to see the unique ability he has to define the brand. Before learning about brand recognition today, I hadn’t really thought about what it takes to identify a brand. Tom Ford is easily recognizable due to his use of high quality fabrics and crisp and clear approach to fashion. Though this collection may feature bright coloured fur and pop-artish aspects, the high luxuriousness is still easily identifiable. The crisp cuts of the garments instantly suggest a top level luxury brand.

LFW - Day 4 - GILES A/W2013

LFW - DAY 4 - GILES A/W 2013
CSM graduate, Giles Deacon presents to us this year at London Fashion Week, the most theatrical collection yet. I adore this collection so much its insane, known for a statement and playful signature, Giles captures an almost twisted fairy tale-esque whimsical dream via clothes, hair and make up. The prints on the flowing dresses in contrast to the enlarged orange wool hats are confusing and miss-match…yet somehow he makes the estranged combination look…relevant. Beautiful earthy prints, cultivating cuts and a luxurious golden colour palette, this is definitely one of my favourite collections at this years London’s Fashion Week!

LFW - Day 4 - Burberry Prorsum A/W2013

LFW - DAY 4 - Burberry Prorsum A/W 2013
Finally on to day 4! Ok, so I thought i’d start with the Burberry  Prorsum collection to post about, because well…every Brit loves Burberry. Though I do find it a little overrated, I do love the iconic-ness of the signature trench-coat! The trench coats featured in this collection are beautifully chic, and wearable (yay!) However, I feel a little pang of disappointment with the rest of collection. I lot of Burberry lovers won’t have a bad word to say about it, but for me, the animal prints simmer the collection down to an ineffective level

LFW - DAY 4 - LOUISE GRAY A/W 2013

LFW - DAY 4 - LOUISE GRAY A/W 2013
I decided to post about this collection not because I find it amazing and inspiring, but because of its quirkiness and how the clothes are borderline costume. Fashion becomes increasingly intense and eccentric every day, but this collection by Louise Grey just seems a little too intense. There are a few key items I really like, but some of the garments just don’t fixate. I do however, like the 1980’s postmodernism influence (bright geometric shapes on fabric, over-sized and overdressed accessories, and colourful and playful silhouettes.) This collection relates extremely well other uni projects (Lookbook, Branding, Consumer Profile) as its influence is so obviously taken from the 80’s (Big earrings, Gold jewellery, Curlers in hair)

LFW - DAY 3 (Continued)- Dominic Jones A/W

LFW - DAY 3 (Continued)- Dominic Jones A/W
I’ve only very recently learned about jewellery designer Dominic Jones from a video of his new launch collection, (DC) and I am so incredibly in love with his jewellery! Though he first launched in 2009 with his ‘Tooth and Nail’ collection, his signature style has remained. Extremely punkish and rebellious, I can understand how his rings, bracelets and necklaces have ended up on beauty’s such as Rihanna, Florence Welsh and Beyonce!
